trivago (yes, there is no capital “T”) is a large international travel community which shares first hand travel experiences (reviews) about hotels, destinations, attractions. Being a community of travelers, they look at hotels from a guests’ point of view and take into account the staying experience, the food and the facilities available. Most other reviews and rating organizations take into account other factors which are of no relevance or interest to the guest. That means a trivago rating is based on the things that are important to you. So when a hotel gets a trivago award that means that it is for reasons that you will understand and appreciate. And Half Moon Blue has just won an award that places it among the top 3 “Best hotels for Business People in Trinidad and Tobago”.

Make the most of the Carnival
Trinidad and Tobago is made up of two islands, which are so close that you can see one from the other, which means that moving between them is never a problem. But for those who want to get the real Caribbean carnival experience and make the most of their trip, Tobago is the place to make a base. The reasons for this are many, but the main one is that this is where Half Moon Blue is located. The intriguingly named Half Moon Blue is a small luxury hotel that offers suites with colonial décor, modern comforts and great food and drink. Situated a short drive from Tobago Airport and set in a secluded location on the shores of Bacolet Bay, it is just minutes away from the city and all the excitement of the carnival. Have you always wanted to experience a real exotic carnival but were put off by the cost and long distances involved? If so, that means you have over looked the Trinidad and Tobago carnival. The carnival is an annual event held on the Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday which means that this year it is being held on February 15th and 16th. And that means that now is the time to make your travel plans. The carnival was started by the French in the late 18th century and taken over by the emancipated slaves in the late 1830s. The street party goes on non stop for the two days and is a mixture of dancing, sequined costumes, reggae and rum. You can buy tickets for an all inclusive experience that includes costumes, concerts by the leading bands, unlimited access to mobile bars that accompany the parades and even air conditioned buses for the weary to take a break in.
Make the most of the carnival experience
While the action is divided between the two adjacent islands of Trinidad and Tobago, those looking to make the most of the carnival experience should book their stay at Half Moon Blue on Tobago. This is a small luxury hotel that offers all the resort amenities the holiday maker could want and combines this with an authentic Caribbean décor to give you the real feel of the islands.
